Background

The School District Of Philadelphia needed to update and modernize two of their websites. In addition, they wanted a job board system and intranet designed for administrators to notify and interact with teachers and principals at their local schools.

Objective

Develop a comprehensive website redesign package including adding new functionalities such as an office intranet and job board.

Solution

The project was divided into two phases. First, our team worked with The School District Of Philadelphia Office of Effectiveness to develop a website focused on teacher effectiveness.

The site was designed to provide up-to-date information and resources important to teachers, principals, and administrators in the execution of their jobs. The site included detailed materials for download requiring a document management system to be included in the package.

In addition to the external facing website, the Office of Effectiveness requested an intranet system be added which allowed teachers, principals, support staff, and administrators to connect, share information via groups, and gave the office the ability to mass send segmented or mass messages to their educators.

Phase Two was a modern website redesigned for The School District Of Philadelphia Office of Recruitment. They need a better system to manage job listing on their website, as well as, providing other information and resources for potential job seekers.

A crucial aspect of this phase was the office needed an easy way to manage and update the website since they regularly change job listing and other information on the site. Our team developed an easy to use permission-based administrative dashboard for their employees to manage the website content.

Further, the office requested a way to update their social media properties from the website. We developed an internal system allowing their team to mass upload and schedule social and blog posting from inside the website portal.

Both web properties were updated to be mobile responsive, permission-based access to administrative functions, and tutorial videos and help sections were added to assist employees in the management of the websites.

Last our team held multiple in-office training session to teach employees how to use the system in person and answer any questions they had.

Results

The School District Of Philadelphia received two modern front facing websites that allowed easier access to information for their users. They received positive feedback from users about the new websites, and the office employees were happy to have a simple to use system to help manage their voluminous content.
